Spirit Airlines, Inc., a significant American ultra-low-cost carrier, has its corporate headquarters in Miramar, Florida, which is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Spirit Airlines was founded in 1983 by Ned Homfeld, and the CEO is Ben Baldanza. 

At the moment, it offers flights to 83 locations across Central America, the Caribbean, South America, and the United States. Spirit Airlines still has crew bases in Atlanta, Atlantic City, Chicago-O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Houston-Intercontinental, Las Vegas, Miami, and Orlando. 

It was the eighth-largest passenger carrier in North America as of 2020, as well as the largest ultra-low-cost carrier.

Spirit Airlines received the FAA’s top honor for Technical Training, the Diamond Award of Excellence, for the fifth year in a row. This medal is only given if all technicians receive the FAA’s Aircraft Maintenance Technician Certificate of Training.
